RAF Lakenheath and Skip Culver

Edwin (Skip) Culver was an Air Policeman at RAF Lakenheath, in Suffolk, England, from 1950 through 1953. The first two photos were probably taken in 1951, based on the white spats he was wearing. In these two photos, he was standing at the main entrance to the secured portion of the base. The building behind him housed, among other things, the base stockade. In the bottom photo, he was apparently dressed for guard duty. These gratuituous comments are appended to these photos by another member of his outfit, the 3909th Air Police Squadron. Upon returning to the United States, we each went our separate ways and have not seen each other for nearly forty-four years. But the memories remain.
