River Road

At night I sit and stare at it. If the night wasn't dark, I could be out there, on that 10-mile loop. Two wheel's, some aluminum, a chain and some gears is all it is, but it gives me something more than that. Every time I'm out there trucks blow smoke at me, motorcycles fly past me; cars have to wait while I ride through the curves in the road. The levee is always to my right and the cows to my left. My view is never framed by a windshield, and I see 360-degrees of landscape that changes as the sun moves across the sky and changes each time that I go out there. I could get off this loop and ride across the state, North America if I wanted to; people do it all the time.
